For some reason there is a particular breed of men who love DIY. They think that it is the greatest thing in the world to build their own patio and Wendy house. For this breed of men the thought of calling in a plumber to fix a leaking sink or replace some intricate part of the geezer would just be the most ridiculous thing.

The first question to ask is why shutters in the first place? Shutters are installed outside of the house, in front of the window. In most homes you would already have curtains or blinds on the inside of the window.
Shutters can create that extra bit of privacy if it is needed. It can also help keep bright lights out of the room if you have thin curtains.
